Collection boxes will be at all Kmart registers to allow shoppers to add a donation to their next purchase.
Scott Fisher Plunket’s Sales & Marketing Manager says Plunket is thrilled about the Kmart initiative.
“Plunket’s Car Seat Service relies on community support, we couldn’t survive without it. It’s so great when community partners, like Kmart, back us like this.
“Car seats save lives and are compulsory under New Zealand law for all children under 5 years of age travelling in a vehicle”, he says.
“Plunket’s Car Seat Services is a place where parents and caregivers can go to get free advice and expert assistance from a Child Restraint Technician.
“We can give advice about the best car seat for your child’s age and weight, and one that is best suited to your car, and ensure that your child's car seat fits your vehicle and is installed correctly”.
Sue Smith, Kmart’s New Zealand Manager says Kmart is keen to acknowledge how important Plunket’s Car Seat Service it is to New Zealand families.
“We’re committed to supporting the communities that support our stores and Plunket is an important part of communities around the country – they’re invited into over 90% of New Zealand homes with new babies.
“With over 26,000 passionate team members in the Kmart family and stores located in 183 communities we have an opportunity to make long-term positive impact on families.
“By working with our customers, team members, their friends and families we can help tackle significant social issues – such as keeping our youngest New Zealanders safe”, he says.
