Nursing
Registered Nurses deliver care in our clients' homes, in clinics and through our telehealth service, PlunketLine. As a nursing-led organisation you can continue to grow your career in a number of ways.
Community nursing

Every day is a little different while working in the community. The one constant is that you’ll use your clinical skills and a compassionate approach when meeting with tamariki and their whānau.
Telehealth and Virtual Care - PlunketLine

We know parenting doesn’t only happen between the hours of 9-5. To support whānau whenever they need specialist clinical support, our PlunketLine Registered Nurses are available to answer calls around the clock – 24/7.
Nursing FAQs

New grad? Returning to nursing, or coming from overseas? Wondering about pay or PDRP? Our FAQs have you covered.
Health Workers
In addition to our community nurses, our Community Karitane (Health Workers) and Kaiāwhina provide important care and support to whānau around Aotearoa New Zealand.
Community Karitane

If you want to work directly with parents and caregivers and support others finding their feet in this crucial time, working as a Community Karitane or Health Worker might be for you.
Kaiāwhina

Work directly with whānau using mātauranga Māori to help them achieve wellness in this rewarding role.
Community Services
Our community services help whānau build their village through our parent groups or antenatal classes. They provide supplementary support to our clinical teams to support holistic whānau wellness, and support stronger community bonds. Learn more about our Community Services roles below.
Playgroup Coordinator

Our playgroup coordinators provide the opportunity for caregivers to connect and young minds to grow and explore through play.
Community Services Coordinator

Our Community Services Coordinators ensure our community-based initiatives such as our parenting groups and programmes run smoothly, and our volunteers are well supported.
Head Office/Corporate Roles
If you are looking to use your skills to have a direct impact on future generations and help to shape our service, you can consider one of our corporate support roles including Communications and IT professionals, Finance and Human Resources specialists and many others—all working together to ensure we have what we need to support whānau across Aotearoa.
Our Head office teams include:
- People and Culture
- Pou Whakarae (Māori Chief Advisor)
- Chief Nurse and Clinical Quality
- Finance, Technology and Commercial
- Performance, Risk and Governance
Administrators
Our Administrators have the privilege of being the first introduction that many whānau have to Plunket, calling them to congratulate them on their new addition and book them in with our services. They also assist whanau to reschedule the appointments and do critical data entry.
As a key point of contact for both whānau and clinical staff, having a strong customer service background and a warm and professional phone manner is key.
