The Whānau Āwhina Plunket team in Hastings is welcoming whānau through the doors of new premises on Saint Aubyn Street after it officially opened to the community this week.
With external works now complete, the clinic replaces the old location on Avenue Road East.
The local Plunket team gathered at the clinic recently for a special dawn blessing performed by Pou Ahurea, Tiwana Aranui from Te Whatu Ora Hawke’s Bay.
Whānau Āwhina Plunket Property Manager, Lindsay Seddon is thrilled to see the clinic somewhere more accessible for families while still remaining in a central location.
“Previously, we were tucked away behind other shops. Now we are easier to find and right next to Totara Health, Hastings Health Centre and a pharmacy, which will be especially convenient for whānau.
“The local primary care facilities are excited to have us there and this will be an opportunity to build stronger relationships with them.”
Hawke’s Bay Clinical Services Manager, Debs Higgins says the new location is user-friendly for both families and staff.
“There are four large, bright clinic areas for whānau with dedicated parking at the front of the building. Te Whatu Ora run a weekly immunisation clinic in collaboration with us, so it will be great having a bigger space to accommodate whānau groups attending.
“We are delighted to support whānau and tamariki in such a homely and welcoming environment."
