"Closing the Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All" is the focus of this year’s World Breastfeeding Week (1-7 August) celebrations.

Breastfeeding is a learnt behaviour for you and your pēpi, and it’s quite normal to need some extra support along the way.

If breastfeeding isn’t working out for you, you’re worried or you are finding it painful, talk to your Plunket nurse or the wider team. You can also call PlunketLine any time – day or night on 0800 933 922 or book a free phone or online appointment with our lactation consultant service.

Join us tonight at 7.30pm for a special Breastfeeding Support Facebook Live Chat where you can ask questions and hear handy tips and advice. The video will be available to watch on our page after the event.

Breastfeeding celebrations are also happening in communities across the country. Check out what’s happening near your place below.
