Hundreds of tamariki and their whānau came through for Well Child Checks, immunisations, dental checks and fun and games. The day also marked the first time we offered our immunisation service in clinic in Hamilton.
One of our Plunket nurses says her highlight was supporting one whānau to catch up on their immunisations, dental check and Well Child appointment for their tamariki without needing to take time off work.
Clinical Services Manager Carena Nagle says her team deserves a huge shout out as it was a real whānau affair with many partners and tamariki coming along to help as well.
“The team had a great day and are already looking forward to the next one in a couple of months. I’m so proud of the team and loved seeing them enjoy their mahi today with something a bit different!

“It was great to see so many happy families who haven't engaged in a long time reconnect with Plunket today. We did over 100 cores, as well as immunisations, and whānau could also access dental and hearing tests. We also gave 200 hats out to tamariki!”
Carena says it was a community effort and she wants to thank the following organisations for coming along and supporting the day:
