Community is so important but missing for so many. Parents need to share their journey with others to build confidence and face challenges. But so many do not have that support and are not able to give their children the best possible start in life.

That’s why, in addition to our clinical services, Whānau Āwhina Plunket provides a range of community services nationwide, including playgroups. Playgroups are run by a mix of Plunket kaimahi (staff) and volunteers, to help parents and caregivers find the support they so greatly need. To be the best that they can be for their tamariki.

But we rely on donations to help keep these services going.

Picture a space where children are playing and learning while parents connect, share, and laugh or cry together. Imagine the relief on the face of a lonely māmā as she realises she’s not alone, a stay-at-home Dad connecting with other parents in those early days with pēpi, or a grandparent finally finding the community they so need with young mokopuna in their care.

This is the power of playgroups, and the power of your gift.
